There is an expansion rod that hooks onto the side hooks above each rear door. Much like a shower curtain rod.

depends on your car but ive put a pole going from the hand holder at each side of the backseats (you know the ones at the side for people to hold onto) and its perfect for carrying clothes on…

I roll mine up carefully and put them in a green garbage bag.

If you have rod between the hand holders in the passenger rear area, and filled with clothes, the police might stop you on the grounds that they think you cannot see out your rear view mirror.

You might consider having a car in which the rear passenger seat can be removed, or you can tow one of those U-Haul things. Check the engine capacity of your car. Some are too weak to have a U-Haul trailer.

You may need to consider a van … the right vehicle for the work to be done.

If you can’t afford a van, then look into motorcycle with side-car in which you select side-car based not on passenger comfort but on cargo capacity.

Go to an Auto motive store (or call) and ask them if they have Travel Bars for cloths. Many of those stores do. They are adjustable (or should be) and you want one that is not really light in weight. The heaver ones are best because the weight of cloths can bend lighter polls and not hang right. Also make sure you have two outside mirrors in order to see the traffic. Because the inside mirror in most cases won’t be able to let you see behind the car, and hardly anything on the right side.

The reason for stating that is I got pulled over one time while moving with boxes of books I could not see out the back window and did not have 2 out side mirrors. I got a ticket so be careful.

Why not make your own expansion rod? All you would need is some strong metal tubing and some hucks to attach to the ends

If you dont want to make one try ebay or just google them
